Our AIMS are as follows:
(1) TO DEFY THE NEGATIVE IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY (AI) ON INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION; to mitigate the impact of technology through texting, social media and artificial intelligence, on interpersonal communication through an emphasis on spontaneous and individual exchanges between people
Due to contemporary means of communication such as texting and social media, as well as increasing use of artificial intelligence, there is an inclination towards brief, generic and impersonal communications. We feel this can adversely affect or minimise the individualistic human nature of how we converse with each other. We would like to mitigate the impact of this trend and look to traditional practices; we would like to resurrect and promote practices of short, spontaneous exchanges which convey more authenticity and meaning between people.
(2) TO PROMOTE INTERNATIONAL AND INTERDISCIPLINARY SPOKEN EXCHANGE; to promote international spoken communication across disciplines as a method of valuing contributions to recognise what people do and to acknowledge who they are.
The world has never been more connected than it is today. We would like to exploit this ability to communicate and promote an international network where the spoken word can be usedacross borders and disciplines to hear what people have to say on a range of topics. We view this as a method of valuing contributions from across the globe to recognise what people do and to acknowledge who they are, and appreciate their viewpoints through short verbal exchanges.
(3) TO PRESERVE THE TRADITION OF VERBAL TRANSMISSION; to maintain societal and cultural connections to foster shared values and practices throughthe practice of short but meaningful verbal exchanges
We feel that, although methods of communication have expanded, the nature of how we make contact with others has diversified to the point that fundamental verbal communication has been overshadowed by other forms of connection. In an attempt to preserve traditional styles of interaction, we promote short verbal exchanges that can capture societal and cultural meanings from across the world and foster shared values and practices through short but meaningful verbal exchanges.
(4) TO SERVE INCLUSION, DEMOCRACY, and PEACE; to incorporate a wide range of participants whilst providing opportunities for equal access, harmony and tranquility, to share brief verbal discussions
In an uncertain world, we feel there is a need to incorporate a wide range of participants and views from across the globe to promote understanding harmony between different people. We offer opportunities and equal access from all regions for those wishing to contribute to the verbal tradition. The opportunity to share brief verbal discussions is intended to break down cultural barriers and foster peace and tranquillity to bring people together in a personal and individual way.
