EDUCATIONAL ROLE OF LANGUAGE ASSOCIATION

Focus: the central position of language in education (following from the fact that language shapes our identity and understanding of the world, with implies that all education rests on language). ERLA gathers academics and researchers from all over the world and its major scope concerns the ways and the degree in which language relates to schooling, culture, methodology, and personality.

Relevance for VT: ERLA’s studies on level of an individual address the questions of beliefs, actions, affect, and cognition (what one thinks of language, what one does with language, how one feels about language, and how one construes the world through language) – all of which add to our comprehension of how verbal treats operate.

EDUCATIONAL ROLE OF LANGUAGE GROUP

Focus: the ways in which language underlies the entire educational world and the ensuing paradigmatic status of language. Sharing ERLA’s premises and scope, ERLG gathers entities which – from various perspectives and in different settings – aspire to place language(s) in the centre of education as it is language that binds the whole spectrum of school subjects and thus merits the key position.

Relevance for VT: As outlined by ERL Manifesto available on the group’s website, ERLG accentuates the indisciplinary character of language and its potential to unite and push humanity forward, which chimes with the widely comprehensive rationale of verbal treats and with how verbal treats can add to global understanding.
